NOT TO BE MISSED—ONE OFF OPPORTUNITY
DR MICHAEL KAUFMAN
CO-FOUNDER WHITE RIBBON DAY
‘ENGAGING MEN AND BOYS TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS’
A one-off workshop for teachers, coaches, police, counsellors, service providers, health care professionals—anyone interested in changing violence-supporting attitudes.
How can private and government schools, working alongside other government institutions, nongovernment and community organizations, develop comprehensive programs to involve men and boys to end male violence against women and girls?
How do we find positive ways to reach men in the workplace, in the community, in religious institutions?
How do we involve boys in schools to help them rethink what it means to be a man?
In this workshop:
- Explore the reasons why some males use violence in their relationships and why most other males remain silent about this violence.
- Develop a framework to productively engage boys and men.
- Look at some success stories from around the world.
- Develop concrete action plans to take this work forward.
