Workplace Education & Awareness

We all know that information is power. We believe that giving people information gives them the power to make different choices.

Australia’s CEO Challenge offers a series of high quality corporate awareness sessions and training seminars which aim to help people in workplaces understand and respond to domestic, family and workplace violence.

We believe that giving people the skills and strategies to recognise and respond to their peers who are affected by domestic, family or workplace violence is step in the right direction to eliminate violence.

All of our sessions are interactive, using a mix of structured and experiential learning using examples from the participants’ business and personal lives, anecdotes, examples, and useful handouts.

Topics include:

  • Understanding domestic and family violence—includes the dynamics of power and control, theories of violence and its causes. Identifying the signs of abuse and knowing how to respond.
  • A workplace response to domestic and family violence – recognising the signs and responding appropriately to staff living in violent homes. Professional skills for colleagues, supervisors, managers, HR and senior staff. Development and management of a coordinated workplace safety plan.
  • Respectful communication—how to express feelings of anger, frustration and hurt with respect for the needs of all involved. Communicating for understanding with partners, children, teenagers, parents and other family members.
  • The impact of chaotic families on children – how living with domestic and family violence affects children and young people including their beliefs, interpretations and coping strategies. How to support resilience in the kids we care about.
  • Shared parenting – practical tips for separated parents that support peaceful parenting including tips and skills for increasing non-violent strategies for parenting.
  • Violence and abuse at work – recognising and responding to colleagues displaying behaviours that are abusive, bullying or harassing; recognising, supporting and responding to these behaviours to create a culture of respect, safety and willingness.

Training and seminars are provided as a compliamentary service for our partners.
