Wake up and Walk

Queensland Rail’s CEO Paul Scurrah has taken on the challenge of Australia’s CEO Challenge’s Race for the 2nd year running.

‘The Race’ is an exclusive competition where CEO’s, senior business executives and prominent community leaders compete against each other to help those affected by violence and sending a message that domestic violence is not acceptable and violence will not be tolerated in our communities. Domestic violence affects many Queensland communities, families and individuals and causes immeasurable destruction to the lives of those who experience it, including children.

The Walk

The Queensland Rail’s Wake up and Walk will take place on Friday, 5th August between 7am to 9am. Show your support and make a stand by joining QR for a morning walk and by making a donation, either online or on the day. Make your way to South Brisbane station for a scenic morning walk from South Brisbane Station, through South Bank Parklands and finishing at Roma Street Station for a healthy breakfast. Participants will receive a water bottle and a cap.

This walk is to send a public message that domestic violence is not acceptable and that we won’t tolerate violence! Last year more than 200 Queensland Rail staff walked, we hope to get more this year!

A barbecue breakfast will be available for all participants at the finish, Roma Street station, at the completion of the walk.

Queensland Rail employees and community members along with their friends, family and workmates will be participating and taking a public stand against violence!

Donations to support Paul and the CEO Challenge can be made through the online donation site – http://www.everydayhero.com.au/paul__scurrah

We would like to extend the invitation from Queensland Rail and ask you to join them on this memorable occasion. Bring along your employees, friends and family so that we can walk in solidarity and take a stand against domestic violence.
